Stand atop a 6,400 m Ladakhi giant
Kang Yatse I Expedition
A guided high-altitude climbing expedition to the main summit of Kang Yatse (6,401 m), one of Ladakh's most coveted trekking peaks.
About the Kang Yatse I
Kang Yatse I is the higher of the two Kang Yatse summits that crown the Markha Valley skyline — a striking 6,401-metre peak that rewards well-acclimatised trekkers with one of the most complete mountaineering experiences in Ladakh.
This expedition blends the culture-rich approach through the Markha Valley with a genuine, rope-and-crampon summit push. Our certified mountain leaders, careful acclimatisation and small-group ratios are built to give you the strongest, safest chance of standing on top.

Kang Yatse I Expedition — FAQs
Previous high-altitude trekking is essential and basic mountaineering experience is strongly recommended. Our guides deliver a skills refresher, but you should be confident with crampons and comfortable at altitude.
This is a strenuous expedition. You should be able to walk 6–8 hours on consecutive days at altitude. We recommend a dedicated cardio and hiking programme in the months before departure.
With our structured acclimatisation and small groups, success rates are high — though the mountain and weather always have the final say. Your safety is never compromised for the summit.
